Gambel’s Quail Covey
They are found in dry farmlands
Not too common here.
On Thanksgiving Day a non-birder reported seeing a Greater Roadrunner in our county. So my birding buddy, Katy, and I went out looking for it. We did not find it, but we did come across a covey of Gambel’s Quail.

Quail are always fun to see. Too bad you didn’t see the Roadrunner. Been there done that.

Finally got to see the GRRO but have yet to photograph it. I’ll wait a few days and give it another try.
