Young woman sitting

submerged in Autumn sunlight

at one with Nature

“The apartment below mine had the only balcony of the house. I saw a girl standing on it, completely submerged in the pool of autumn twilight. She wasn’t doing a thing that I could see, except standing there leaning on the balcony railing, holding the universe together.” JD Salinger, A Girl I Knew
The other morning I was out walking along the river trail near the public library. Across the river I saw a young woman sitting there on some rocks, completely submerged in a pool of autumn sunlight. She wasn’t doing a thing that I could see, except sitting there on those rocks with a book in her hands, holding the universe together.

Rufous-backed Robin

A FIRST record for the state

Climate change cause this?

Not your ordinary Robin.  It is endemic to the Pacific slope of Mexico!!! It was first seen on Tuesday and I was able to drive over to Cortez and photograph it on Thursday.  The whole trip took most of the day since I waited for about three hours to get a decent image.
